Coway Airmega Mighty2 AP-1512N — Advanced Review
The default bedroom-and-living-room purifier recommendation, properly refreshed for 2026.
The verdict
Leading reviewers made the Mighty2 their 2026 top pick, handing it the title its AP-1512HH predecessor held for more than a decade, and independent chamber testing found it cleared a test room a full eight minutes faster than any comparable traditional purifier. At speed 2 it holds 42.6 dBA — quieter than the equivalent Levoit, Winix, and Blueair units — while CADR figures around 240-249 back the 1,800-square-foot-per-hour claim. The trade-offs reviewers flag are running costs, with filters pushing first-year total cost past $400, and the absence of Wi-Fi or app control at a price where some rivals include both.
Rated by category
- Purification speed. Fastest traditional purifier in independent lab testing; CADR 240/242/249 for smoke, dust, and pollen
- Noise. 42.6 dBA at speed 2 — the quietest of the traditional mid-size class; 56.9 dBA at turbo
- Running costs. Annual filter set adds roughly $145 per year on top of purchase price
- Design & usability. iF and Red Dot 2026 winners; air-quality indicator and auto mode, but no companion app
What reviewers praise
- Class-leading clean-air speed
- Quiet at everyday speeds
- Washable pre-filter
- 12-month filter life
Worth knowing
- No Wi-Fi or app control
- Filter costs (~$145/year)
Price and value
$269.99 is fair for the clean-air delivery rate, but budget for filters — the true cost is closer to $415 in year one.
How it compares
Versus the Levoit Core 400S you lose app control but gain faster cleaning and quieter running; versus Coway's own AP-1512HH you get better odor control, air-quality feedback, and longer filter life for about $40 more.
The bottom line
The default bedroom-and-living-room purifier recommendation, properly refreshed for 2026.
How this review works
This isn't one editor's opinion.
