Sonos Era 300 — Advanced Review
The standout choice for listeners who want real spatial audio inside a polished multiroom system.
The verdict
The Era 300 is the rare spatial-audio speaker that critics and independent testing labs agree delivers on the promise, with the independent testing labs crediting its unusual driver array — including an upward-firing tweeter — for convincing Dolby Atmos height and width from a single enclosure. Testing consistently praises its room-filling, detailed output and the maturity of the Sonos multiroom platform, while Trueplay tuning adapts the sound to the room. Owner reviews align closely with experts on sound quality and ecosystem polish, supporting the 4.7. The reservations are about cost and the Sonos walled garden, not the audio.
Rated by category

- Features. AirPlay 2, USB-C line-in, Bluetooth, Trueplay tuning; can pair as Arc rears. No Google Assistant.
- Value. Expensive for one speaker, and Atmos content is still limited outside Amazon Music/Apple Music.

Price and value
At $449 it's a premium single speaker, justified if you specifically want Atmos spatial audio or Sonos surrounds; otherwise the cheaper Era 100 covers most listeners.
How it compares
It's the pick for spatial audio in the Sonos ecosystem, beating the Apple HomePod on flexibility and inputs, though the HomePod is cheaper and the Era 100 offers better value for plain stereo.
The bottom line
The standout choice for listeners who want real spatial audio inside a polished multiroom system.
How this review works
This isn't one editor's opinion.
